If left unresolved, trauma can affect every aspect of your life including your self-esteem, confidence, mental attitude, physical health, family and relationships. Trauma can be induced by physical injury that can result in emotional, mental and spiritual issues. Likewise, emotional or mental trauma can affect your physical wellbeing. Spiritual trauma can result if your family belief system does not align with your way of looking at the world resulting in alienation, isolation and not knowing one’s place in the world.
If trauma is not resolved and healed, it becomes part of your cellular memory, part of who you think you are. Unless resolved your body’s cells will continue to replicate the memory of the trauma. Bruce Lipton, stem cell biologist and author of “Biology of Belief” and Candace Pert, scientist and author of Molecules of Emotion both agree that our bodies carry the emotional memory or blueprint of our trauma. Our body has been referred to as our unconscious; and unless trauma is brought to your conscious awareness you will continue to create patterns and cycles of behavior that will affect the trajectory of your life and the decisions you make. On way or another, you will relive the memory of the trauma through your senses: sight, smell, touch, and sound, and through people that you interact with. That is why taking action to resolve the effects of trauma beyond just talking about it is imperative to your full recovery.
When you experience a trauma the side effects are known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. Some of the common symptoms include pronounced startle reflex, insomnia, fatigue, nightmares, anxiety and depression. To soothe the symptoms you may resort to alcohol, drugs, emotional withdrawal and/or increased sexual activity.
With unresolved trauma, your life is never the same. Relationships change, priorities shift, and finding your focus may be illusive, more difficult. The good news is there are very effective techniques that I can offer you to help relieve and release the trauma from your mind, body, and spirit enabling you to step into a life of profound peace and resolution. My work helps to bring order where there is disorder. Together we can move through your trauma and allow for healing to occur.
